What It Is
A Floor Gallery for Canada's Geomatics Community
The Canada Maps & Poster Gallery creates a vibrant space for dialogue, feedback, and recognition — a chance to connect with peers, share ideas, and celebrate the power of geography in shaping our world. It sits alongside the Royal Canadian Geographical Society's giant floor maps as a signature, physically immersive feature of the Expo floor.
Curated by Jonathan Murphy and Ted MacKinnon, with support from the Fellows of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS).
Who Can Participate
Students, Professionals & Organizations
Whether you're a seasoned professional, an emerging student, or simply a lover of maps — this gallery is open to you. It's a national, inclusive exhibition, not a juried competition: multiple submissions per participant are welcome, and maps and posters of all reasonable sizes are welcome. We intend to display every suitable submission.
Students
Show coursework, capstone projects, or personal cartographic work to a national, professional audience.
Professionals
Share maps and posters from real projects — a chance for feedback and recognition from peers across the sector.
Organizations
Showcase organizational work, research, or cartographic products alongside the individual submissions.
How to Submit
Submission Process & Deadline
This is a manual, direct process — not the online Speaker Submission form. Printed maps and posters are mailed in ahead of the conference.

Follow the instructions you receive
Our team will walk you through how to get your printed map or poster to us in time for the show, curated with support from Peter Srajer, Conference Chair, and the Fellows of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.
Meet the deadline
Submissions must arrive by October 12, 2026 — two weeks before the conference opens.
See your work on the floor
The gallery runs as a continuous installation across both full conference days (Tuesday–Wednesday, October 27–28) on the trade show floor.
Recognition
- There's no jury or scoring panel — every suitable submission is intended to be displayed.
- Attendees vote for a People's Choice Award during the Expo.
- Every participant receives a Certificate of Participation and professional photography of their submission on display.
